Royal Treatment Cat Sitting

About Me

Hello! My name is Diana, professional cat spoiler and sitter. At Royal Treatment Cat Sitting, I believe every cat is the ruler of their household. I specialize in providing expert care for cats with a variety of health conditions, ensuring their medical needs are met with a gentle, experienced hand. From administering oral medications and insulin injections to feeding tube administration, I am comfortable with all types of medicating.

A little about me! I'm originally from Kentucky but have lived in Columbus for close to 20 years. My educational background is in Psychology, and I have been working in clinical trials research at OSU for the last 15 years. I've been fortunate to work in multiple medical departments and learned a lot about various diseases and conditions, much of which transfers into the pet care world. I live in Upper Arlington with my husband and four cats, and I love Columbus! I work as a solo sitter, so you'll always know who is coming into your home.

With 15 years of experience caring for my own special needs cats, I provide the specialized, high-standard care that cats deserve and the peace of mind that owners need. Whether it’s a vigorous play session or a quiet lap to curl up on, I’m here to ensure your cat's routine never misses a beat.

Why choose Royal Treatment Cat Sitting?

A Tailored Approach to Every Life Stage

From the spirited curiosity of a kitten to the dignified grace of a senior, I understand that every chapter of a cat’s life requires a different touch. I became Fear Free® Certified as an animal shelter volunteer. I’ve learned how to observe body language and subtle cues. I build a foundation of trust that respects your kittie’s boundaries and honors their temperament.

Clinical Precision, Compassionate Care

For the owner of a cat with complex medical needs, I provide a level of technical expertise rarely found in private care. Whether managing Chronic Kidney Disease, Diabetes, IBD, or Heart Disease and other conditions, I am adept at the delicate administration of:

  • Precision Dosing: Oral solids, liquids, and topical applications.
  • Advanced Support: Subcutaneous injections or fluids and feeding tube management.
  • Wellness Observation: My expertise allows me to distinguish between a quiet afternoon and a subtle health concern. This vigilance ensures that any deviation from their "normal" is identified and immediately brought to your attention.
  • Emergency preparedness: Pet First Aid & CPR certified.

The Sanctuary of Home

True luxury is the ability to remain in one's own environment. Boarding, no matter how "high-end," introduces the stress of unfamiliar scents and the risk of communal illness. By keeping your companion in their own sanctuary, I ensure they remain surrounded by the comforts they know. To protect their sensitive senses, I maintain a scent-neutral presence, avoiding perfumes and irritants that might disrupt their peace.

An Unwavering Commitment to Discretion

Your home is your private domain. As a solo practitioner, I am the only individual who will enter your residence or care for your cats—ensuring a singular, consistent bond. This commitment extends to your personal information; I utilize secure systems to manage addresses and sensitive information, providing you with total peace of mind while you are away.

Beyond the Basics: Enrichment & Vitality; Respecting Boundaries

I do more than meet basic needs. Once health and safety are secured, I focus on the soul of the feline. Through curated play and sensory enrichment, I ensure your cat’s mind is as engaged as their body is comfortable.

I speak 'feline' fluently. If your cat is averse to strangers, I never force an interaction. I focus on respecting their boundaries while using low-stress techniques to help them feel safe. My goal is to slowly build trust at their pace, helping them grow comfortable and work to build a trusting bond over time through patience and positive reinforcement.

Nino

Nino is my inspiration for my cat sitting business. I first held Nino in the palm of my hands when he was just four days old. I'd grown up with cats, but he was the first one I'd adopted by myself. I brought him home after 2 months, and spent the next 16 years with the most loving, yet stubborn, orange and white boy. He was a rambunctious kitten, always getting into everything and never letting me get a full night's sleep. He was incredibly smart, and unforunately he lived a life with one medical issue after another.

By the time he passed, he was diagnosed with hypertropic cardiomyopathy, seizures, IBD, type II diabetes. kidney disease, arthritis, and pancreatic cysts. He had multiple surgeries and procedures throughout his life, including a front arm amuptation due to an infected IV, a PU surgery, and ingestion of a foriegn object. He had a feeding tube at the end of his life, and was on 11 different medications. He was worth every bit of heartache and worry, and I miss him every day!

He wasn't my only special needs cat. Honorable mentions go out to Grover and Ellie! All three are the reason I feel confident in what I know about feline health, behavior, and enrichment. I've found my calling and cannot wait to bring my experience to your very special cats!
